DR. JENI THOMAS

PANTENE PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST

“It’s all towards finding new and better ways to get every hair type to the healthiest and most beautiful hair possible”

Everyone has a hair story. Mine goes back to my first & last perm at the age of 12. It was supposed to last only 3-6 months. It never went away – my hair turned permanently curly, and hair has fascinated me ever since.

I have studied hair science for more than a decade covering the spectrum of hair health topics - how changing biology effects hair (which explained the hair perm mystery), how pollution impacts hair health, what causes hair colour to fade, and even the scientific truths about hair care ingredients – like are sulfates really bad for hair? And what about silicones? It’s all towards finding new and better ways to get every hair type to the healthiest and most beautiful hair possible. That can be through better ingredients and products or it can simply be through better information so you know without a doubt what is right for you and your hair.

The longer I study hair the more I realize we have to learn. There are still so many more stories waiting to be explained with science.
